VERBATIMS

Are promotions best known for:
winning something
Short Term Gains
trying to move something stuck
I think in our specialty, aviation, it's trinkets and trash for the most part. However, I like to use promos most often to get consumer feedback. Sometimes for "thank you" and brand building.

name acquisition

Getting Buyers to Buy
providing a short term sales lift
increasing sales at reduced margins
short-term volume initiatives
increasing leads
Tie--building brand/affecting consumer behavior
| Unfortunately, promotions have their beginning in an effort to increase sales. This should not always be the case. Promotions would be more meaningful if they each had their purpose, whether to increase sales, increase brand image, retain customers, etc. |
increasing traffic
trial generation of new products
all of the above but building brand image/creativity/and changing LONG TERM behavior
short-term sales boosts
loading stores
getting a brand idea into something real to put into the audiences hands
could be building brand inage or increasing sales. Depends
