Is the number of Starbucks in your neighborhood:
#Response DateOther comments:
.8/8/2008 6:31:00 PMI go so infrequently.
.8/11/2008 3:54:00 PMI live in Manhattan, so it's expected to see one every few blocks
.8/14/2008 7:57:00 AMIf they can make the business model work, who am i to judge? There is one or two stand alone stores, and they have mini-locations inside a local grocery chain, and the local Super Target...
.8/14/2008 10:05:00 AMThe answer depends on what you want out of Starbucks. If you want ambiance, there are probably too many SBUX. If you want convenience of meeting place, it isn't enough.
.8/14/2008 11:36:00 AMPopulatio could support more, however, competitors have moved in
.8/14/2008 11:55:00 AMThere are none
.8/14/2008 11:59:00 AMsome good non starbucks so don't need more
.8/14/2008 12:01:00 PMThe overkill, such that it is, seems to occur in teh "big" cities, where in NYC I've seen them 1 / block. . . there is no sense of it being "special" then. No different than McDonalds
.8/14/2008 12:26:00 PMDon't have one, don't want one.
.8/14/2008 12:35:00 PMDon't care
.8/14/2008 12:39:00 PMThey are well placed on high traffic routes.
.8/14/2008 12:44:00 PMI live in a small town and it is the only one around. I might visit it more if it were on my route to work.
.8/14/2008 12:44:00 PMAbout right for a small city.
.8/14/2008 12:52:00 PMConvenience of locations wherever my business/errands take me is a strong LIKE.
.8/14/2008 12:55:00 PMThe local chain Caribou kicks there butt!
.8/14/2008 1:21:00 PMthey outnumber McDonalds and all fast foods combined (minus Subway)
.8/14/2008 1:22:00 PMOn different sides of town.
.8/14/2008 1:24:00 PMI'm actually surprised there aren't more in the fairly affluent area.
.8/14/2008 1:28:00 PMSmall town (Northfield, Vermont) with 4,500 pop. We don't have a Starbucks although we could support a kiosk at Norwich University (enrollment of 2,000).
.8/14/2008 1:34:00 PMThere is no Starbucks in my neighborhood. There are two nice drive through coffee shops in my neighborhood and a privately lowned breakfast cafe with good coffees.
.8/14/2008 1:40:00 PMTook over the space of our favorite pub - therefore have boycotted that Starbucks and will walk an additional 6 blocks for an ice tea.
.8/14/2008 1:56:00 PMnext town over...30 miles
.8/14/2008 1:57:00 PMI have 4 locations within 200 yards in each direction of the major intersection I live close to. Seems excessive, yet they are all busy. There are other neighborhoods in Toronto with what seem to be extreme numbers of locations.
.8/14/2008 2:32:00 PMPlease send one of the 600 closing stores to Westerly RI!
.8/14/2008 2:43:00 PMIn addition to a couple of Coffee Bean stores and a Peets, as well as many independents and diners - who needs so many?
.8/14/2008 2:48:00 PMwe have plenty of local coffee shops, each with their own distinct personality, flavor and mix of loyalists. we don't need starbucks
.8/14/2008 2:58:00 PMZero would be a good number.
.8/14/2008 3:32:00 PMtoo few by one. i need one with a drive through on the "right hand side"
.8/14/2008 3:46:00 PMDon't care for grocery store S-Bucks; prefer stand alone.
.8/14/2008 4:02:00 PMConvenient. One is in target and one is in Barnes & Noble. Not freestanding. So I only go when I am shopping in one of those stores. Saves me a lot of dough.
.8/14/2008 4:51:00 PMone would be ok, especially if it were drive through
.8/14/2008 4:53:00 PMThe pop of our town is less than 25,000!
.8/14/2008 7:13:00 PMOne is good. We have a great local coffee shop as well.
.8/14/2008 8:15:00 PMSurprizingly even though it is a lot, I would hate to wait in drive thru so I say dont close!
.8/14/2008 10:10:00 PMThere are none.
.8/14/2008 10:11:00 PMI use the word neighborhood loosely. Not one of them is close enough to walk to.
.8/14/2008 11:50:00 PMThey have as many as 5 within a half mile, one stand alone and 4 in bookstores and supermarkets
.8/15/2008 8:35:00 AMBut in Canary Wharf, which is close by to where I live there seem to be too many; I believe there is at least 4 all withinn walking distance!
.8/15/2008 4:54:00 PMThe three are in different directions, so very convenient, depending on where I'm going that day.
.8/16/2008 12:04:00 AMThere's usually a wait. But, I think their preparation/service is inefficient.
.8/18/2008 3:25:00 PMAbout right
.8/18/2008 3:50:00 PMWith no major city near me in a town of twenty five thousand and six Starbucks?
